In fact, look around for "Laser IMAX" - its a brand new format that replaces the projector bulb with RGB lasers for an even clearer picture.

That's too bad, but theatres are great at giving passes or refunds. When I saw the last Star Trek (yuck), the sound cut out for only about 7 seconds. It was no big deal at all but they gave everyone in the threatre free passes anyway.
