Yes Robbie, the kid was told to submit his question. This would standard in any live TV show with this kind of a format. Even more so when there are kids involved in asking politicians questions.
The kid submitted a question and was approved. However, then the kid submitted a seven hundred word opening statement, three questions, and a closing statement. The kid, most likely through this parents, was trying to hijack the entire show for whatever reason. After this the father pulled the kid from the show, and then the father doctored the emails and shopped them around to news outlets trying to make a story that wasn't a story at all.
