doping is an institution...think lance armstrong...nobody will openly talk about it because its career over time...in reality random tests happen very seldom and you need 3-4 days MAX to clear...the odds of being caught are very slim and the US olympic team governing body is not exactly going to shoot itself in the foot by forcing stricter testing...this goes for all countries of course not just the USA..."we inspected ourselves and found nothing wrong"
I used to do 11 workouts in 6 days for years, trained at semi pro levels...trust me on this a few pills of a fast acting agent are a god send every now and then...it may not be full on doping but it gave me a huuuge advantage in recovery...
it is true that you are done if you get caught...but if you are not winning all the time you are also done...the window of peak performance lasts only a few years in most sports...
