There are some here that are not happy with my Hall of Fame Award win. I will start by saying, I understand where you are coming from. I really do. I will, however, not apologize for winning.

Currently, the GFY Awards have a set of rules. These apply to every award category and were set up by GFY (not me).

To get in the running, you have to be nominated. Anyone can nominate anyone. If you get enough votes to be in the top 10, you move to Round 2. If you get the most votes in that round, you win.

I did not nominate myself nor did I ask anyone else to nominate me. I did not even know I had been until I logged into the GFY Awards page to vote for someone else. I was surprised and yes, a bit tickled. Who of you would not like to see your name?

I did not expect to make it to Round 2 yet, I did.

I never made a thread asking for votes. I never asked anyone else to do that for me either, but the way this system works, you support the nominee you want to see win. If that means you make threads, and I am not the only one threads were made for, that is what you do. Everyone has that right. Some exercise it more than others.

The person with the most number of votes wins. I never thought I would win. Honestly. Yet, I did. I do not own a magic wand. If I did, my GFY HOF Award would be sent somewhere other than Colorado and my Manservant would sign for it during my massage and Reiki session before he rubbed me with oil, poolside.

Those of you that are not happy with this outcome need to do something to let GFY know that you would like some type of qualification checkbox for future HOF Award nominees. Start a petition. Start a thread. Make noise. Just please, don?t blame me or the people that supported me. They merely followed the rules.

If you want a bit of solace in this unsettling event, perhaps you can find it in the fact that this award went to someone that has been in this industry since late 1998, very active on GFY in the early 2000's (before people started leaving the industry) and people have seen, known and not someone that joined in 2013 or a fake nic. I am so very, very appreciative of this award because my peers voted on it and it means the world to me. To me, this is more than just a GFY Award; this is more like a Lifetime Achievement Award that I will forever cherish.
