Google is a very good example of this with their *do no evil* tag line. You can see what the retention of 17 years of search queries has done. What you input in that little box becomes the property of Google by law.

From my understanding, they are not just logging data that is transmitted over the internet. They are logging data before it is transmitted. Client side keylogging.
Would you also support an operating system that logs every keystroke and mouse movement made on the consumer's device? This is where we are heading. Very quickly.
