Here is a personal example. I'm not a sniper (no way), but I need about 3
single 7.62mm rounds to put down a full growth target from 350 meters with AK47 equipped with a standard sighting bar. Now tell me, is it possible to do that in automatic mode? No, you will kill just everybody near it. So the same question again: what a psycho needs to have an automatic assault riffle in the city? What for? For hunting? For a self protection? Aha..

In Russia one license gives a right to buy two firearms (e.g. one shotgun and one semi-automatic riffle). Personally I have zero licenses and zero guns because I don't live in Brooklyn, Chicago or LA and I feel no danger on the streets here just like you. The criminal situation in Moscow is about the same as in Berlin. I have one 4.5mm PM-based gun and AK105-based riffle, but they are intended for sport purposes only and they don't need any licenses.
