They should stand to honor those who lived and died to allow you to live in the USA. Thanks to them, pro athletes can earn millions playing children's games, without the government interfering, other than taxes.
I do think the words to our patriotic songs and pledges should be changed. "One nation, under god" doesn't represent the USA. Which "republic" are we under? "Justice for all" in which area of the USA? "America, America, god shares his grace" who determines who god is, male or female, or how is grace shared?
Honoring our fallen heroes for their sacrifice is fine and justified. Bringing religion into it in this century is wrong.
