Here's a quick fact for you: It doesn't matter where the blackout started because in order for it to spread the way it did, everyone's backup and emergency systems had to fail. The basic truth is that nobody was prepared for this. I hope this incident serves as a wakeup call for the people who administer the utilities.

They have been told time and again, experts in front of congress that this will be happening very soon, and often. All falls on deaf ears.
Personally if the Federal Government lifts a damn finger and gives even a penny of Federal funding to any of the effected states, or places a cap on the maximum a company may charge those states for extra power, there will be a friggen riot in California if not a fucking civil war. Let those states take it up the ass, and bail themselves out.
BTW sure blame Canada, Bush has problems with their new drug reform laws and hates them. This is just an attempt to get the people hostile about it.
