it is really really hard to scale up production past a certain point when agriculture is concerned...if producing on a 100 acre field has an imaginary difficulty of say 100, producing on 200 acres is difficult 300 and so on...the larger the grow the higher the problems...just having robots alone to pick does not really solve anything for non-standing-tree type fruits and for most veggies...you have to take in to account that the picking part is 5% of the effort and the "get to picking" part is the other 95%...
I went to spain and visited a 100.000 acre greenhouse "sea of plastic" complex, I can not explain how much 100.000 acres is LOL the bell peppers it grows are shit and it supplies like half of europe...the veggies made inside are absolute garbage regardless of the near perfect climate and the conditions inside...
veggies/fruits do not like mass grows...it is not my opinion, I have seen this time and time again...the bigger the grow, the shittier the produce...
the robots you are mentioning are made by engineers who do not understand this...it looks good in a show...it looks good in a demo...but in real life it is not what they think...you will get shit fruit at higher prices and nothing more...
