Killing infidels is allowed in the quran.

Sounds peaceful enough. Until it's interpreted as it is. Are Shia the enemies of Sunni, or the other way around? Well they can be so it's allowed to kill each other. Along with everyone else who isn't on the same side.
And when the sacred months have passed, then kill the polytheists wherever you find them and capture them and besiege them and sit in wait for them at every place of ambush. But if they should repent, establish prayer, and give zakah, let them [go] on their way. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.
What if you don't want to convert, or disagree with paying a fee, or don't want to accept their rules? Then all bets are off, you get killed.
