A forensic tent remained in place on Wednesday lunchtime while uniformed officers kept guard at the edge of the cordon in heavy rain.
Neighbours near the scene said they believed the death to be gang-related.
Nadir Sheikh, who has lived opposite the road where the stabbing took place for the last three years, said: ?There are always a lot of kids hanging around in groups here. There was another incident here a few weeks ago so the police came around then too.
?I think there needs to be more police presence, surveillance, a way to stop this happening.?

Five men have appeared in court to face criminal charges relating to the deaths of 96 people at Hillsborough, more than 28 years after the disaster.
A large group of families whose relatives were killed in the lethal crush at the football ground during the FA Cup semi-final on 15 April 1989 were at the magistrates court in Warrington to attend the first hearing.
Sir Norman Bettison, the former chief constable of Merseyside and West Yorkshire police, who was an inspector in the South Yorkshire force at the time of the disaster, was in court, charged with four counts of misconduct in a public office.
He is alleged to have lied about his role following the disaster, in statements he made in 1998, and again after the publication of the Hillsborough Independent Panel report in 2012.

Bank of England deputy governor Sam Woods has issued a stark warning over the dangers caused by a cliff-edge Brexit.
In his most strident comments so far on Brexit, Mr Woods, head of the UK?s top banking regulator, the Prudential Regulation Authority, warned that leaving the EU without a transitional deal in 2019 would cause ?significant issues? for the country?s banks and could threaten financial stability.
He pointed to a variety of risks to the wider economy and individual financial firms resulting from a sharp break with the EU.
UK pay growth set to remain weak while investment still hit by Brexit
Such a scenario could lead to, "higher loan impairments, increased risk of default and lower asset prices and collateral values", Mr Woods said.
