Our constitution doesn't say anything about funding company's.
That is basically the govt. picking "winners and losers". And you better believe that corrupt lifetime politicians have been getting filthy rich off getting paid off to pick those "winners".
Think about it Mark.
Let's say that you and Elon Musk started off a the same time with the same idea. But Musk has backers who pay off the proper Senators and Congressman and contribute to the proper Presidential candidate.
So now Pres. Obama gives Musk billions and billions of dollars and your company dies.
How about this...the MARKET can decide. Keep govt. OUT of it.
