But like many great texts it is the interpretation and then application where men always fail.
e.g.

A noble enough suggestion.
But like all the great ideologies human nature tends to ruin the party. Lets say our endeavours vastly increase the available wealth and resource but the increases are hogged by hoarding. Where is the greater good ?
Balance is always required - free markets encourage growth, but unfettered chaos leads to the stong dominating the weak, and ultimately market fixing and monopolistic behaviours.
