Because they dont want to do that business, which is perfectly within their rights.
They are a business, they reserve the right to do business with whomever they choose. America isn't a socialist state, we don't force businesses to do business with those they don't want to work with.
Instead of lamenting the loss of Visa, I'd spend my time looking for alternate billing methods.
Charly is quite right in the matter, if the consumer wants it, he'll figure out a way to pay for it.
Look at gaming sites. They cant get US credit cards through, and haven't been able to before there were laws in the US prohibiting it, but that doesn't mean that US consumers don't gamble on line now does it?
Be proactive.
What if Visa pulled the plug tomorrow? Do you think that porn would just disappear? Hell no, the smart guys would have new ways of taking in a buck within a few days.
