Western governments are on course to make 50% or more of the population poor or close to it. The next 30% will be treading water and the top 20$ will see income increases. The top 1% will become wealthier beyond their dreams.

Forget about how it is today unless you only use it to compare to 50, 40, 30, 20, 10 years ago.

Jobs are being cut by the day, despite claims they're not. The replacement jobs are more than likely to be at a far lower wage. Companies are exporting manufacturing and support to countries where people work for 20% or less of a Western Wage. Migrants are flowing in from Third World countries and will work for less. The biggest crunch, which has only just started, is automation. This will even replace the lowest tier of jobs.

All this has a huge trickle up effect. A manager who was once buying porn, webcam, dating. Is now unable to afford it. Some unemployed will be looking at being webmasters. Some companies will outsource traffic generation t the Third World and as we know a lot of webmasters are already in the Third World or somewhere where they can live for less than a Westerner. This goes across all industries.

Some think by paying less in taxes and being able to update their iPhone every year they win. That is until their job disappears or their customers disappear.

Trump offered to cut back on migration and to stop jobs disappearing and even bring some back. He seems to have lied. Hillary offered to bring more migrants and to expand free trade, she wasn't lying. Just 2 people out of 535 politicians who have made sure this is the way they can reward their paymasters. The EU is no different it has made sure cheaper workers are replacing better paid, made sure goods flood in from the East and made sure the flow remains one way.

And if you think they want to spread the wealth more evenly. You're blind.

Fortunately, we live in democracies and we can hope voters will wake up and stop voting for people who are determined to make the majority poorer.
