Drake, wins 13 awards. Not in a life time, but in one ceremony, from the Billboard Music Awards.
He breaks the records of Adele who had the most wins in a single year. If you don't know who Adele is, she is what some people would call a "singer" that actually "sing songs" but I digress.
Drake doesn't sing, doesn't write melodies and doesn't play an instrument. But he knows how to speak and knows how to rhyme words. Similar to how a 2nd grade student rhymes words to a nursery rhyme.
At the ceremony, Drake and his musical partner, rhymed words together outside of the Bellagio Casino in front of water spouts and colored lights. It was a magical performance showing off his skills as a human child that can hop around a stage and rhyme words to a beat. I'm certain Kanye West was watching in envy.
It's truly incredible the raw talent that is required to win not just one Billboard award, but 13 awards in one ceremony. I am impressed as a fellow human being and more than impressed that he has taken me back to the 1st grade, when I too, learned the skill of rhyming words.
I'm sure the greats of music were all watching tonight in awe as Drake took down 13 Billboard awards, thinking to themselves: "Yes, he deserves those awards because of his ability to speak and rhyme words takes more talent and skill than all of us normal musicians can understand or appreciate."
Forget The Beatles, Elton John, Billy Joel, The Stones, Hendrix, The Doors, Led Zeppelin, Rush, Michael Jackson, Stevie Ray Von, Joe Cocker, Pink Floyd, just to name a few, all of those artists simply do not compare to the majesty and the true genius that will only be known to us as, Drake.
I feel so small just saying the name Drake as he is the true master of music and a true representation of what the word "talent" means.
The scariest part of all of this is the Billboard Awards are based on record sales and ratings. America has made their vote on what real talent is all about and Drake is their answer. A no talented simpleton, that can rhyme words to a beat while jumping up and down like a 2nd grader trying to impress his teacher.
Ask anybody on the street to name at least ONE song by Drake. Just ONE. They will look at you with the same face I'm making right now while writing this.
