Concerning this worm...

Keep in mind that is was MicroSoft that engineered this open port advertising idea and then sold the knowledge to anyone whomever would pay for it...

Remember the recent pop-ups no one could seem to kill? The little text boxes that no po-up killer could stop? That was Bill Gates at work.

Now that just about everyone with any inteligence has stopped that and knows that the windows updates are part of the reason they had that problem in the first place, what would you do if you were Bill Gates?

First I would create a patch that would fix the upcomming problem (worm), then I would create a worm that would stop you from getting new MS patches and updates. In a few minutes, the whole web would be crawling with fixes (From third parties) for the problem and all the attention would be on the fact that if you had gotten the update, you wouldn't have gotten the virus in the first place...So who is now going to re-enable the Microsoft Update prog???

I bet most people will...Do I really have to say more?

It's a sales tactic and nothing more.
