Obama couldn't fire Comey after the Clinton fiasco because he knew the depths of the Trump / Russia FBI investigation, that we've only recently found out about, and changing horses at that point could hinder the investigation."
Trumps kept Comey for months into his presidency and praising Comey, shaking his hand on TV etc. etc.
Trump fired Comey the day after Yates & Clappers televised testimony under oath indicating collusion has been found & Trump is still under investigation. Today Trump fires Comey, and in his announcement states he was told 3 times by Comey that he's cleared and not under investigation.
