I am not so sure about this. There are a handful of things to know about space exploration, getting there, etc, and most of this information is common knowledge at this point. But physically doing it is another matter. Going to the moon is a long term commitment, and establishing a base there is another long term commitment. Any major world power could do it, but it would take some serious effort.

I hope this happens. I would love to see it in our lifetime.
Actually, there is plenty of space on earth and we have lots of resources, we just have to stop destroying and wasting them both..

We shouldn't be irrigating desert fields to grow crops in areas that routinely suffer from drought. Hydroponics combined with recycled water is the way we need to go. We also need to put an end to just letting people plop up a farm anywhere they want and demanding water to irrigate it..

I was in New Mexico and as you drive into Roswell, the 1st thing you see coming from the south isn't a crashed alien space craft..no it's some ass hole who decided to grow fucking walnut trees in the fucking desert and he waters the fuck out of them in the middle of the day to keep them alive..

Complete utter waste of water because "I can do what I damn well want with ma land!" attitude..

We don't need massive acreage to grow food crops anymore wasting millions of gallons of water to grow them.. We can grow crops locally in warehouse setting using hydroponics and vertical placement. This allows you to grow the crops year round at any location instead of just certain seasons. This is the exact same way they will grow crops on Mars or the Moon..

Instead of large acreage farms we need to make the switch to localized smaller growing operations, much like they do with legal MJ as example..
