That's a red hereing. While poor people do commit crimes it's just not based on income. Rich people commit crimes too.. What are the races of those poor, and by percetage, not gross number. What is the education of these people? Their debt to income ratio, the city/ town/ state they live in. Are they from a single parent household? There are plenty of poor people who don't commit any crimes.
