Nixon's "Peace with Honor" position during the Paris peace talks cost 1,000's of American soldiers lives. Nixon's relentless bombing of the North did not accomplish jack-shit. I was 18 back then and remember that bullshit well.
The mining of Haiphong harbor made the difference and That should have been done years earlier -- or we should have just left the South Vietnamese to fight their own war of unification.
The situation in Korea is different -- the North Vietnamese had no interest in developing a nuclear weapon and using it.
