Agreed with your comment, even the most experienced media buyers will go thru 500 bucks before they have enough statistical data to make the changes necessary to make the campaign profitable. You can't run a campaign 50 bucks and expect to get enough data for anything. Optimizely has a nice page, here I'll post it for you it shows you the amount of hits you need to be 95% sure the difference you see is real and not just bad luck or good luck.
