My father was a world war 1 vet. He never let any of us his forget that he was an orphan in France and that he was only 14 years old when he fought in the battle of Verdun. The man was strict and he handled every problem the same way, with brutality. After the war he immigrated to Canada and hooked up with my mother who really wasn't much better. I'm the youngest of 5 brothers and our parents taught us about life with a backhand or a belt across our bare asses.

They were tough people because they had to be and they taught us how to work hard, clean up after ourselves and make do with what we had. It's an attitude that I really don't see a lot of these days. In fact most people are just self-centered assholes that throw their crap everywhere without ever respecting what they have or ever worrying about other people.

Now in my home my dishes are at least 40 years old. I can afford new dishes but why should I waste my money buying new ones when these are still perfectly good? Why should I contribute to mass consumerism gone awry? The same can be said for my old TV, my old couch, etc. To be blunt, I don't want what I don't really need.

I also don't have a problem with hard work. So my renewable green technology is my 2 hands and I use them to do things like hang up my clothing on a clothesline outside instead of an energy consuming dryer. I also fix things that are broken instead of throwing them out and I learn to use what I have in new ways.

I've also lived through the communist threat, possible nuclear war, Y2K, war on terror, man made climate change, etc. If there's one thing I've learned is that when a threat is actually real, the government/establishment doesn't stand around bitching about. Instead they move like lightening and start issuing orders for what needs to be done. ie. They don't ask and they don't beg - They tell everyone what needs to be done and that's the end of conversation.

Even governments that hate each other quickly put aside their differences when there's a real threat of some kind. You don't need to look at world war 2 to see examples of what I'm talking about, you can look at what's going on today. When it's in their best interests the worst of enemies become best friends real fast.

So believe me if man made climate change was real the world wouldn't be negotiating or trying to implement carbon taxes. Instead they would put an end to whatever was causing the problem without further apologies or discussion.

Nope and in fact I still don't have a use for the crap because my brain works faster than my fingers can type.

Why I own some of this crap is because what happened is the business environment changed and I'm not talking about Tube sites, DVDs, VHS tapes, super 8 films or 35mm cinema productions. I've watched what used to be savvy businessmen turn into complete morons just because they "got computers" or "got several sites up." They neglected their consumer base, destroyed their product lines and forgot everything they knew about running a business.

Unfortunately because I had to continue dealing with these idiots I had to "upgrade" my business. Not that it was upgrading in order to remain competitive but in order to get these dummies to respond to my communications. eg. First I could get them on the phone but that changed to send them an email and wait several hours for a response. Later it changed to contact them by Facebook and now it's send me a text message but please don't phone me or if you need a fast response try me on twitter.

For every dime today's porn industry makes we used to make $50 bucks. The money has shrunk while the jizz biz has become saturated with product, wanna-be-players and scam artists. What little money is left is controlled by a very very small number of people.

Apple is just another multinational corporation hustling their crap on the public. Apple does NOTcare about you... Or me... Or the workers in China who make their crap... Or the child slave labor mining the minerals for their crap from the unsafe mines in the Congo... Or the E-waste they dump in Botswana. The only people Apple cares about are their stockholders.

Anyone that buys their products and therefore puts money into the pockets of multinational corporations that engage in that sort of immoral crap really has no right to take the moral high ground on any social issue.

I grew up in Lac Saguay and trust me that I go hunting and fishing every single chance I get. As for the babes in Montreal, well, I have an old guy - young lady video line. McGill continues to furnish me with some sexy fun with students that need a little extra money.

However let me ask you a question, "Have you ever really lived?" Because to me it appears that you've got the "Yuppie" thing down pretty good. The problem is that Yuppies are like tourists in this world, they're just sightseeing and never really become part of it.

When someone purchases that shit they're contributing to the financial resources that corporations need for research and development. Corporations that will then build and sell surveillance drones and weaponized drones thereby contributing to the creation of a police state.

Which begs the question of what kind of world do you want your grandchildren to live in?
ok yep, my new favourite poster.
