well the mexicans did not get centuries of slavery and they did not need military escort to attend school in the USA...they got voting rights in 1965...you can not say there was not racism present and you can not claim that the chances of the fathers and grandfathers of todays black population were equal to mexicans or whites...starting off from waaaay back, in every way, is not exactly equal opportunity...

claiming racism had no role would simply be impossible...if you set back generations of a certain race this will have effects in the future because the bill always comes due even after 100-s of years...even today the racism is present but at a much lesser degree...
