as for Russia - you won't deny that well being of average Russian now, in 2017 (even after dramatic oil price drop and crisis because of that) is much better than it was in, lets say 1996, 1998 or 1999....pensions are higher, military finally has some decent money, some social programs for young familes blabla etc.
it all got improved.... well - it could probably improve more if the nation wouldnt be stupid and wouldnt elect people that steals from it, but this is not only the Russia's problem
