Yeah, kane...but that still doesn't address what I said about the amount of people polled, the geographic locations of the people polled, the type of person who would even answer a poll from a cold call, etc.
They just aren't accurate.
I remember during the campaign that Trump was touting how he was winning on all the online polls.
And Anderson Cooper and company openly laughed at him over that and pooh-poohed the idea that an online poll could be accurate as opposed to the polls that CNN and every other media outlet was using.
Turned out that the online polling WAS accurate and the vaunted "traditional" polling was 100% wrong.
Same thing happened in England with "Brexit"
I believe that traditional polling is outdated and will never reflect any true accuracy. Technology has left those polls behind.
And yes, I know very well that online polling is easy to screw with.
But quite frankly...so is traditional polling.
If I were a pollster and wanted to make Trump look great (which none of them do, his victory made them all look horrible)...I would easily be able to ask the right question in the right manner to the right people and get the result I wanted.
