No $1800 isn't a trivial amount. Hopefully it doesn't cost you more in anger/rage in the near future occupying your mind and affecting quality of life, I know how mad at certain things I've been and how much it affected me.

I'm all good man, I've got my "medications" to keep me calm. I don't know about stable but calm at least. :D
Besides I have too much going on and too many projects to focus on to let something like this derail me. But I just hate being scammed especially when I acted in good faith with Brian. It's not right.
