Until the US frees itself from the practice of buying politicians votes. The cost will never go down. You have a service that will always get more expensive run by people who make more money by making it more expensive.
Hospitals, Drugs, Equipment, Insurance companies all take a slice off the top to pay shareholders. Great in a service where competition has a huge effect, awful when there is no competition. Build up the State Healthcare to a point where the Private owned are out of business.
