for the US economy there was truly nothing worth taking in yugo...but for US cronies inside the government they got to ruin the economy and buy anything they wanted cheap and made billions later on...a good example is wesley clark and his mineral mining monopoly in kosovo...
payment of tribute like in the roman empire is up for discussion...if you impoverish a region and then put it in debt slavery this is kinda like a tribute...again this means little for the US economy in general for for a few cronies it is serious $$$$
