I was watching something, might have been John Oliver, recently and they were talking about one of the plans that has been put forth is to create high risk pools for someone like me with pre-existing conditions and then give states block grants to help those people pay for the insurance. That is all fine and good, but the estimate is that the grants would need to be somewhere in the area of $170 billion to cover everyone and the amount they were planning on putting into these pools was $3 billion. Obviously, that won't work. I also read that they might make it so the repeal and replacement won't go into effect until 2020 after the election. What kills me is that for six years they have been trying to repeal Obamacare and they have been talking about replacing it and yet they still don't have a system in place.
I have a feeling this is going to turn into one hell of a cluster fuck.
