The significance of the headscarf is to stop women's beauty encouraging only Muslim men from raping them. Read the Quran and other learned Muslim Clerics writing on the reasons why women should cover themselves up.

Then ask yourself why are these women allowed to put on make-up to make themselves look attractive.
