How UK economy landed on Thatcher's policies ? Was it good or bad for the society as a whole?
The miners along with other Unions were looking to bring down the democratically elected government. The UK was in a shocking state and the only way out was to defeat them.

The Thatcher years were good for the UK. So for society, it depends on where they live. For parts of Wales and the North, it was bad, the problem is they sit there waiting for jobs to come to them. While millions came to the UK to get jobs.

That's the problem with the UK. A lot of people think the Government should take more care of them, without them paying for anything. The Government has no money, it only spends the people's money. European countries with a better level of social care, tax people a lot more.
