What you're not taking into account is exactly what I mentioned above with the medicine.
It's true that there's less suicides during the holidays but there is more depression.
With the winter months, the pressure of holidays depression increases. People get into deeper funks and once again just do not have the strength to harm themselves.
As spring rolls around, there's more sunshine, they have a bit more energy but are still dangerously depressed, and then they kill themselves.
My mother took her own life on March 1st of this year.
There were of course extenuating circumstances, but she also suffered from bi-polar for many years and this did play in her bad judgement.
