Yeah, there have been scary news reports coming out of Bangkok.
I'm glad I was there in the summer and not now.

i havent been affected by anything you people read in the news, ever... coups, bombs, airport riots, you name it... nor is anyone else, that isnt part of the problem...

sounds like some travelers are feeling it right about now tho.. but it aint me.

well i've seen some pretty serious news on the tv few hours ago.. i'm guessing as long as u're still in town and not in the airport area u'll be fine?

I made it out 48 hours before they shut down the airport.

Otherwise, if I was still there... I'd put on a yellow shit, grab a bat and start beating down taxi drivers.

pretty much.. like most things in the news, they present a small picture and ppl are led to draw the conclusion that the entire country is like that

I didn't think there would be problems directly with foreigners.. I've heard that a lot of businesses are closing down for a few days in Bangkok and that travel is difficult.

I want to do a quick trip through Thailand and the Philippines - I think I'll wait for January..

One of my best friends are stuck there at the moment. He and his family have been there for 3 months, and then they and up being there one day to long, because the airport was blocked 24 hours before they were scheduled to go home.

Only Bangkok at the moment, but the problem is that people cant get to the other areas

Why did they even start beating that taxi driver? Seems pretty random.

I got fucked over and had to postpone my flight 4 days, because of this I'll miss Thanksgiving with my family

I'm disgusted with this shit right, VERY angry with Thailand

That totally sucks about the lock down. I hope they upgrade you or compensate you in some way for being delayed so long over the US holidays.
