Why don't people spend as much time concerned with automobile safety as gun safety?
A gun is symbolic. For some a gun is a symbol of freedom and protection. For others it is a symbol of conservativeness and violence.
Will society be so free as to allow people to own dangerous things such as guns or will it eventually aim to protect everyone to such an extent that guns, tobacco, and alcohol will be outlawed?
