An old person that I consider wise once told me: "Getting old is about watching everyone you thought represented the world around you die."
I think having a fractured childhood has some gifts. One of which is I don't look back with fondness much. I learned very young to be very forward looking. On this year's list only FLorence Henderson affected me the most (which wasn't much), she was an example of a Mom I saw a lot on TV.
You can forget the dead leaves behind you and keep your eyes on the sprouts growing in front of you.
