Heavily armed 'Mannequin Challenge' video leads to felon gun arrest
Quote:
A gun-strapped ?Mannequin Challenge? video led to an Alabama man's arrest for criminal possession of a weapon.
The clip made in Huntsville adheres to the rules of the video craze, with its participants standing still as statues while a roving camera pans over them.
However, the front yard video shoot was choreographed as a shootout, with 20 men posing as if they were in the middle of a bloody gun fight.
The video was viewed millions of times on social media starting last month, with one Huntsville woman?s post being shared more than 87,000 times as of Tuesday afternoon.
However, its Facebook fame had unexpected consequences, leading authorities to execute a search warrant at the home seen in the video and arrest two men.
Kenneth White, 49, was arrested for being a felon in possession of a weapon, and both he and Terry Brown, a 23-year-old, were arrested on marijuana charges.
Madison County Capt. Mike Salomonsky told WHNT that two pistols, an assault-style rifle and a shotgun were found in the home along with extra magazines.
He also said it is believed that other men in the video may have been connected to felonies and could face charges.
