My advice is always use revshare. Be in it for the long haul. Don't get discouraged by slow traffic/signups/sales. There's always peaks and valleys.
If you have the coding ability, always try to think of different and innovative ways of presenting information to your visitors. Try to get your site as far away from appearing like a standard vanilla white label as possible. Check out my site (in my sig) to see the crazy ideas I've come up with that are actually pretty nifty and useful to visitors.
Never think of your site as "finished," where you can forget about it and leave it on auto-pilot. Always look for things on your site that could be done better, presented better, improved, etc.
Learn how to use PHP redirects, so you can get rid of every affiliate link on your site for better SEO. You can even use redirects in your iFrames. Plus, a bonus to having redirect links is they can be posted freely on twitter, whereas posting affiliate links may get your twitter account suspended.
