No. Because everyone is learning English and because there is less necessity. Someone living in Nebraska can travel more than a thousand miles and still be in the US and only have to speak English the whole way. The only difference is they will have to learn to say "soda" for "pop" as they leave the Mid West and "Y'all" for "you all" in the South.
Someone living in Budapest has more than 20 countries within 1000 miles of them. Since not all Austrians know Hungarian, it becomes rather necessary to learn other languages if one wishes to travel even that short distance. The distance between the capitals of those countries is less than a few hundred miles. The US is vast and relatively isolated.
