I'm not against all gun ownership personally, but that is one of the worst arguments that pro gun people use.
Why should nuclear bombs be illegal, then? Less people die of nuclear explosions than in pools. Why should heroin be illegal? Why should terrorism be illegal? Less people die of terrorism than heart disease. Why should anything be illegal if you're basing it strictly on the number of deaths?
The point is that guns are made to kill people. That's why some people think they should be illegal.
Comparing them to swimming pools isn't a good argument.
