The problem is that Trump is the master of unprovable innuendo, then the crazies are more than happy to fake the evidence.
Before you know it the bizarre innuendo spouted by the Orange one is "proved" in numerous youtube videos and posted over the internet by loons like WHP
Its the same process for all of the fantasy world views. 9/11, David Icke, the moon landings, Sandy Hook, false flags, crisis actors, big pharma blah blah blah.
I know intelligent people who actually believe some of this shit, mainly because in their eyes there is no smoke without fire.
I also know stupid people who firmly believe all of this shit because they saw it on youtube. I have met people whose world view is entirely generated from the shite that spews from the conspiracy industry. It is both sad, and very worrying because we are about to see the the most powerful position in the world filled by a man who plays the game like a boss.
Unfortunately I dont have any answers or suggestions, and this problem will get worse because we all want to believe the "facts" that support our own in built prejudices.
Some people have the intelligence and emotional maturity to be able to see through the fog and realise that we dont live in a world where "they" are out to get us. But Trump is the master of stirring that emotion in vast swathes of the electorate. Some folks see a bright orange snake oil peddling narcissist and are incredulous that he has got this far - others say he is speaking for them when he plucks on the emotively charged subjects of race and socio economic despondency.
History tells us the Trump message is very powerful. Ally it to youtube vids that "prove" the bullshit that he spouts, social media to distribute the love, and as Churchill noted, "A lie gets half way around the world before the truth has got its trousers on".
