So many issues here.

I'm from the UK. Legal age of consent here is sixteen. Human nature being what it is, that means there's a fair amount of fifteen year old girls having sex, and even a few fourteen year olds. I would not have a problem creating a sex site featuring sixteen year old girls from the UK. It's all consensual (in fact, you do need parents/guardians permission to photograph <18 in UK). Many in US would consider that (16-17) underage. I think their mentally retarded, but that's because I grew up with shagging sixteen year olds. It's all in the culture. That said, I would not go near <16 and real kiddie porn just plain wrong.

The age of consent is just a number. For some people it's the right number, for a lot it's the wrong number, possibly even to low at eighteen for some. And culture has a lot to do with where the right number is.

The netherlands and other european countries have lower ages of consent. I believe some might even go as low as fourteen. They are not backward third world countries. Their culture is different and they have no more social or physical problems relating to this than the US or UK does. It's all in the culture. The fact that I would blanch at fourteen year olds having sex and some Americans blanch at sixteen year olds having sex does not make me or people who live in these European countries monsters or pedophiles.

My last point is. It's not VISA's job to police this. VISA is a private company, and they can set the rules as they goddamm wish, but why the hell havn't these illegal sites been closed down by the police ? If it's because it's not truly illegal in the countries where they operate, then I do think it's a slippery slope. Scat now, Piss later, maybe anal in a couple of years. Porn in five ? Who knows ?

All in all, I am glad these sites are closing. I personally find these subjects distasteful. But somehow having the suits at VISA set morality rules for the whole world just sends a shiver down my spine, especially if they are based on rather repressed American sexual morality.
