They're a credit card company. They have the power to do pretty much anything they want.
On the bright side, there will ALWAYS be processors willing to process anything that makes them money and the people who have these fetishes will probably have no problems getting accounts with such processors. If worse comes to worse, you can always do snail mail and still make a killing!
