At least if you find them dead, even if they were horrifically killed like John Walsh's (America's Most Wanted Host) little boy was where the freak that took him sliced the kid's head completely off, you can eventually have some kind of closure.
But to have to live with the possibility that they may still be alive I think is even worse torture.
