No Paul people have not suffered from EU membership. Quite the opposite.

Living standards are high for the majority. The areas that voted for Brexit have LOW levels of immigrants living in them so dont give me that bullshit about school places and doctors appointments.
Wages have stagnated, cost of living has risen.

Britain had to virtually beg to join Europe in the 70's. The country was in terminal decline. It was fucked. Great Britain was on it's arse. Can you remember that far back ?
We joined a Single Market, not a Single Government which is why the EU was created and where it's heading.

The European collective institutions have delivered the longest period of peace and prosperity that Europe has EVER enjoyed.
The USSR and Nuclear Weapons have more to do with that. Why go to war with your customers? Trade stops wars.
Fucking suffered.

Look at the areas that voted to stay in. Scotland and N. Ireland. Both are scared they won't be getting money from England via the EU. Once Westminster tells them they can have the money or Brussels says they can't. They will change their minds. What's the level of migration in those areas?

I'm 100% in favour of tariff-free trade between European Nations. I live in Europe and enjoy the benefits of a tariff-free trade deal. What I'm against is a Central Government making rules that are meant to fit Romania/Greece and Germany/Britain. That's madness and is doomed to fail. They couldn't get the single currency launched without giving individual countries control over borrowing, spending, and taxation. That's stupidity, imagine Scotland going Independent while retaining the GBP and the ability to borrow England into bankruptcy.

Answer that last comment, then tell me why you're for having the EU and not a Tariff-Free Trade Bloc. And yes we can have that, we need to break the hold the hold politicians have over Europeans.
