Acacia and the first ammendment
I keep hearing that Acacia is going after webmasters who simply link to sites which contain audio and video content. Does this only apply to affiliates (with affiliate code in their url link)? Or does it apply to any webmaster who has any type of link to a site offering audio and video?
Couldn't it be argued that Accacia's demands are trampling on our first ammendment right to free speech? If we like a site we shouln't have to pay a third party for the right to link to it. Of course, I don't know whether a hyperlink would be considered 'speech'. But a hyperlink is essentially written text and that is considered 'speech'. I can't believe the first ammendment would allow someone to charge us just to use a specific text link. Any thoughts?
