Well, pretty much no one loses a federal job, but also because among black americans, a federal job is considered a pinnacle of achievement. African-Americans make up 12.5% of the population and 18.5% of the federal work force. Further, African American federal employees had an average salary of $72,224 in 2015, almost twice the national average for ALL races ($39,505). They have great benefits too, including a rent distress program, credit unions, loans, assistance, etc. These are the elite among black Americans and they pay their rent and seem to have great lives.
