Republican ideology is to make the rich richer, while saying you to can be rich. While making sure it rarely happens and making millions poorer. Trump has plugged into that with migration and imports. The general public earning less than $50,000 know both have made their life worse. Yes they can buy a shirt for $20, but can't get a job that pays enough, because the shirt was made in China.
And should they be well off enough, they can have their lawn mown or house extension built by a migrant. While most can't get those jobs because migrants undercut them.
Their voter base has realised they're being screwed and expected to vote for more screwing. All their candidates were offering more of the same and the exception was Trump. The problem is he only has answers idiots believe.
China has enough US debt and expected to buy more to fuck the US. A wall won't stop enough to make a change.
Unless both parties wake up, they will both lose or the US will continue to decline for most Americans.
