I wish to amend my earlier answer. Now that I think about it the FIRST money I ever made selling porn occurred roughly 5 years before I got on the internetsesez. My brother was getting divorced, I was helping him clean out all his stuff from their house, and one day he comes by and drops off a huge box which contained his entire VHS and magazine porn collection. Much of it was recordings from the infamous "porn channel" from back in the day. Maybe 40 or 50 tapes total.
I later decided to sell said collection, and proceeded to place ads in the free Buy & Sell, 3 tapes for $35 bucks, plus I'd throw in a few mags. "Over 17 hours of adult video!" kind of thing. They actually sold like hotcakes for a while. Then the B&S decided to ban any adult-related ads, but by then the collection was pretty much sold. Made over a grand.
This would have been '94-'95 ish. I had no idea that 3 or 4 years later I'd be starting a network of adult sites but I got a good early look at just how voracious the appetite out there was for porn.
