Meat, veggies, rice. I was in Japan for a week recently, I ate mostly that kind of diet and lost 4lbs in a week. I never felt hungry, I always had enough food. Granted, we walked on average 10kms per day doing tourist stuff, I'm sure that was the main cause but the food is so light and delicious, you never feel full or bloated after a meal.
I'm not a big guy either, I went there weighing 199lbs, came back 195lbs.
